Meet Our Teachers!

Brittany

Piano, Guitar & Voice

Teaching with us since Jan 2019

A native of Raleigh, NC, Brittany is a classically trained pianist since the age of four, and a self-taught guitarist in more recent years. She recently graduated from N.C. State with a degree in English - Creative Writing, and a minor in Arts Entrepreneurship. Brittany has always had a passion for playing and performing, and she is very excited to share this passion with the next generation of young musicians in the community.

Ashesh

Guitar, Piano, Voice, Drums

Teaching with us since March 2019

Ashesh is from Apex, NC, and has spent more than half of his life performing and teaching music. In 2018, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from North Carolina Central University. During his time at NCCU, Ashesh studied under Baron Tymas, Branford Marsalis, Joey Calderazzo, Robert Trowers, and Dr. Ira Wiggins. Ashesh has performed with a wide variety of groups including opening up for the top metal bands in the country, and performing with the United States Army Jazz Guardians. Being able to play multiple instruments has allowed Ashesh to develop a teaching style that is easily adaptable to any student regardless of age or experience. He is excited about being on the Rich Music School team and sharing his knowledge with the next generation of aspiring musicians.

James

Guitar, Piano, Mandolin, Violin, DJ, Music Production

Teaching with us since March 2019

James has been a multi-instrumentalist and performer most of his life. Starting with violin and classical music, he has grown up with music as his steadfast companion. He plays a variety of instruments, including but most certainly not limited to guitar, violin, mandolin, ukulele, piano, bass, synthesizer, as well as basic percussion. In the last 10 years, he has established his skill as a DJ and Producer of electronic music, playing and creating and organizing visionary events that blend all forms of art in perfect harmony. In addition to that, he has played in live music ensembles almost his entire life, whether it be the school orchestra, or bands of his own creation. James believes that music is a Universal language that transcends all boundaries, and is extremely passionate about teaching and sharing that language.

Jick

Drums, Guitar, Piano, Bass, Strings, Woodwinds, Brass, Voice

Teaching with us since January 2020

Jick had a successful early-career as a group and private music instructor in his native Upstate New York. He then moved into other music sectors, working as a touring and session musician/producer – including playing with several alumni from Frank Zappa's bands. This was followed by long-time gigs composing and songwriting in the multi- media industry, while based in the San Francisco Bay Area and Nashville. Since moving to NC, he has been playing and producing with local bands and teaching privately. Jick is incredibly excited about being on the Rich Music School team, pleased to share knowledge and experience with students.

Jason M.
Bass, Guitar, Piano, Drums, Trumpet

Teaching with us since October 2020

Jason began his sonic voyage in sixth grade, when he started playing trumpet in the school band. After a couple of years of laying a musical foundation with the instrument, he decided that he wanted to expand his musical toolbox by trying other instruments. He began learning baritone, tuba, drums, piano, guitar, and eventually lead him to his musical soulmate, the bass. Studying electric bass guitar and upright bass gave him incredible opportunities to learn and love a plethora of musical styles. He has performed in orchestras, chamber groups, jazz bands, rock bands, and as a soloist as well. He “bass”ically loves playing and teaching anything! Jason wants to help you find your musical passion and develop the skills and knowledge needed to achieve your personal goals.

Eric
Drums, Piano

A graduate of the music education program at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Eric Chang has been involved in many areas of music since the age of 14. During his time at UNCC, he studied percussion under the direction of Rick Dior, the principal percussionist of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. He has taught various areas such as high school marching band, elementary music programs, and privately. Eric’s knowledge in music is very diverse and focuses on many areas such as: Jazz, Rock, Funk, Latin, Marching and Orchestral Percussion. These styles can be applied to drum set, beginners piano, and an array of other percussion instruments. 

David
Piano, Guitar, Voice

David is a singer/songwriter raised in Durham, NC who started out as a lyricist and producer; at first creating instrumentals with drum machines and samplers. Eventually he became acquainted with both the Piano and Guitar and taught himself music theory, playing Keyboard and Guitar in several different projects and two of his own full albums. David was brought up around music, both of his parents are professional musicians, his father is the primary organist of Duke Chapel and teaches advanced music theory at Duke University.  David believes that music is a great way to better yourself and forge a path of self-expression.

Eno
Guitar, Piano

Eno grew up among the Carolina pines hearing guitars and mandolins echoing through the woods. Inspired by music and farm life, he began performing as "Farmer Eno" blending music performance with early childhood education.  Eno strives to make learning and practicing music enjoyable for young musicians.  He is dedicated to helping students overcome obstacles and nurturing a positive and healthy relastionship with music.  Eno understands that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to music education, and he tailors his instruction to each student and their interests.

Jason C

Jason is a multi-instrumentalist with a Bachelor's degree in jazz performance from UNC Wilmington, and a masters degree in music theory from UNC Greensboro.  With over 25 years of teaching experience, Jason brings a lot to the table for all of his students!
